About Wiifm

“One cannot be taught until one is willing to learn.”

Patrick’s fascinating story began in post-war Africa. His creative talents shone from an early age, even while he struggled at school due to chronic dyslexia. At the tender age of five he created his first handicraft – a wooden doll’s table with nails for legs – a present for his sister.

Patrick emigrated to Australia when he was eight years old on the Assisted Passage program and lived in a migrant centre once used as a prisoner of war camp for captured Japanese soldiers. He and a schoolfriend showed their entrepreneurial spirit before they even hit their teens, making cash by sourcing scraps of metal for the local scrapyard, selling wool to farmers and rabbit skins to the tannery, and collecting and trading rare birds’ eggs. Patrick left school at age 15 and home at age 16 to begin travelling.

His travels took him to the USA, to Europe, in particular Austria, as well as England, New Zealand and Burma. Patrick also lived and worked in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Newcastle. Despite the rocky tart to his education, Patrick was eventually accepted into a top UK business school. His career included senior management positions in construction, healthcare, IT and e-commerce, as well as assisting an international charitable trust establish centres all over the world. Patrick exercised his creativity by designing furniture, buildings, embellishments and men’s fashion accessories.

The latter led to the development of the high-end Patrick McMurray brand of ties, cufflinks and male fashion accessories. Patrick’s brand is known on the world stage and worn by distinguished personalities, politicians and celebrities in Australia and across the globe. Patrick has been invited to deliver presentations on dress etiquette and gentlemanly conduct in business and to address university students on the topic of innovation.

Patrick’s extensive work on the Wiifm concept is a culmination of his past experiences, present projects and future goals. His goal for Wiifm is to establish an ethical core business structure through which people can communicate and connect for future success.
