“ It doesn’t matter how successful you become – I believe you should always remain humble and genuine. It’s the key to attracting people to you.”
Gerry Doney’s long career as Director of Doney Leahy Financial and Estate Planning Services has taught him that the relationships he forms in everyday life as well as in the office are equally vital to business success. He also understands the importance of demonstrating integrity and mutual respect in interpersonal relationships.
Working in estate planning has also given Gerry an insight into the necessity of providing sincere and personalised service to his clients. His focus is always on the person, ensuring that their experience is positive and beneficial. Gerry’s meetings with new clients are often the beginning of lifelong relationships.
Gerry’s reputation for professionalism and integrity has been achieved by ensuring that he is honest, ethical and professional at all times and – importantly – that everyone he deals with is of the highest calibre.
Gerry crystallised his understanding of positive relationships in business when he started learning about total relationship marketing in the 1990s. Gerry considers that his understanding of relationship marketing took a number of years to mature. After having practiced relationship marketing for over ten years, Gerry decided to set up a relationship marketing group.
“It’s not about purely promoting your business at a networking meeting. It’s about first contributing – success and benefit will naturally follow.”
Gerry has had the pleasure of meeting, assisting and conducting business with people from all walks of life – employees and employers, notable dignitaries, people of influence and those who have reached the pinnacle of their professions. Gerry believes that his relationships with these people provide him with a unique opportunity to assist people with energy and integrity who are in business.
This “givers gain” philosophy of bringing people together for the benefit of all was the origin of the Wiifm community concept. Gerry is driven to see Wiifm grow into a global phenomenon in which business people with integrity can meet and interact to contribute to each other’s businesses.
Gerry believes in growth through contribution – business and personal development through the fostering of real relationships in the real world. He has given back by taking a founding and active role in the West Perth Beautification Program and in his current role on the Board of Directors of the Liver Foundation of Western Australia. His work on the Wiifm concept is a direct result of his own experience in seeing positivity return to he or she who puts it out into the world.
“My vision for WIIFM is to create a global platform for doing business based on integrity. Wiifm has the power to influence new generations and make business built on trust the new norm.”
